Preliminary information
Before you can get me wrong and think about who knows what, however, I want to let you know right away that I cannot promise you to become popular on Instagram overnight, they do not know any "magic formula" to do this, sorry. However, if you follow the "tips" that I am about to give you you should be able to gradually conquer new followers and become more and more followed in the context of this social network, this does not rain.
In a nutshell, try to put together all the little tricks that I am about to provide you and you will see that, little by little, you too will be able to create your audience. The important thing is to put passion into it, always and in any case, and not to seek popularity at all costs, because this rarely leads to long-term results, remember that.
Use hashtags
Let's start this guide on how to depopulate on Instagram (if we want to call it that) give it to you hashtag. Similarly to what happens on Twitter and Facebook, even on Instagram it is possible to "tag" your posts, that is your shots, adding tags to them that indicate the topics covered in them and increase their visibility by other users of the service.
Choosing the right hashtags is essential to make your photos known to the Instagram audience, so I advise you to carefully evaluate the labels to "stick" to your shots before sharing them online. Basically, there are two guidelines to follow: relevance and popularity.
Given that two hundred different hashtags should not be used on a single photo (three or four "suitable" ones are enough), I suggest you search among the Instagram trends and check which are the most used hashtags on the service.
To find out which are the most popular hashtags of the moment you can use the website All hashtag, which shows what are the most used hashtags on Instagram regarding a certain topic. The service is free and it is not necessary to register in any way to use it. Alternatively, you can contact Top Hashtag, an Internet site with almost the same functioning as the one I have just indicated.
If among the most popular hashtags there is any relevant with the photos you are about to post, use it without thinking twice. If not, don't go “off topic” and look for the path of originality.
By that, I mean you should search Instagram, find photos similar to the ones you're about to post, and take a cue from the most popular hashtags there. The important thing is not to be too generic and always choose the most popular tags for certain topics.
For example, if you are posting a photo of a sunflower don't use #flower as a hashtag but #sunflower or, better yet, #sunflower. In fact, keep in mind that most of the users on Instagram are not English but English speakers. Consequently, if you want to "become popular", you have to speak their language!
Create your own style
Another good way to try to make a splash on Instagram is to create your own style of well-defined photography. This does not mean that you must always use the same effects but that you must try to put your own particular "signature" on the images, so that other users can become attached to your way of taking pictures and immediately recognize your shots among all the others. .
If you want some examples of "effect" photographs able to attract the attention of the public, start the Instagram app, press the button with the magnifying glass at the bottom and take a look at the most visited images of the moment. You will notice that many have elements in common: try to "capture" them and make them yours to transfer them into your images.
And then, remember: better to publish one photo, beautiful, every week than two, ugly, every day. In short, don't have the urge to appear but put on Instagram only those photos that really deserve to be seen and to receive likes from others.

Share on other social networks
It will seem trivial to you, I know, but another effective way to depopulate on Instagram and, consequently, to implement the attention of others is without a shadow of a doubt in share their shots also on other social networks: Facebook and Twitter in the first place. This operation can be performed manually, by connecting your Instagram account to other social accounts and pressing one of the buttons located under the heading Share in the screen that opens after editing your photo in Instagram, or automatically.
To connect your Instagram account with Facebook, Twitter and / or other supported social networking services, access the app and then press the little man icon which is located at the bottom right of the main menu. Then, select the gear icon located at the top right, go to the menu Linked accounts attached to the section Settings and select the social network of your interest from the list of social services available.
After providing authorization for the publication of photos and videos on the other social network, Instagram will automatically post your content on the latter as well. All you have to do is take your photos normally and select the buttons referring to the social networks of interest at the time of publication. Simple!
If, on the other hand, you want to make sure that all the photos posted on Instagram are also published on Facebook and Twitter without you having to lift a finger, install IFTTT (if you remember well I also talked about it in my tutorial on how to download photos from Instagram). It is a free application available for Android and for iOS which allows you to automate the interaction between all the most popular Web services.
After downloading the app on your smartphone, create your free account on IFTTT and access the screen with the "recipes" (the scripts that allow interaction between the various Web services) by first pressing the mortar icon placed at the top right and then on the one in the shape of +. Then click on the magnifying glass icon and search for terms such as instagram twitter o instagram facebook to access all the recipes that allow you to automatically post Instagram photos and videos on various social networks.
When you find a script that interests you and that you want to activate, press it and then tap the button Add to activate it. The first time you use IFTTT you will be asked to authorize the service to access your social accounts: accept.
Interact with other users
Finally, I would like to underline something that many underestimate but which can be very important to become "famous" on Instagram: the fact that after all Instagram is a social network and, as such, requires a good degree of interaction.
If you want to make yourself known, you cannot expect everyone to come looking for you, this seems obvious to me. So browse the photos of other users (perhaps the most popular ones) and comment on them calling into question the subject of the shot, the author of the same and maybe even other commentators (if you don't know how to do it, you can follow the instructions I gave you in my guide on how to mention on Instagram).
Try to create discussions in photos relevant to the ones you make, give criticisms and compliments to their authors, talk about the fact that you love certain types of shots, etc .: you could attract the attention of different people and receive new followers for personal relationships that you can establish within Instagram and not just because you have posted a nice photo.
Doing so does not exclude the hypothesis that with the passage of time you will be able to establish some friendship with other users of the famous app who have the same interests as you (for example the love for a certain country, the passion for kitchen or the one for movies) and with which to make guest posts, that is to say exclusive photos on your account returning the favor if necessary. Not bad, right?
