Hide the Instagram story from specific users
If your intent is to hide the Instagram story from everyone, you must know that the first way to do this is to take advantage of the intrinsic functionality of the social network that allows you to hide the photos and videos published in the stories from some specific users.
To do this you can act through the app Instagram to Android e iOS or from a computer, using the Instagram app for Windows 10 (it is not possible to do this from the web version of the social network). The steps to be carried out are identical for all the platforms mentioned: I indicate them to you in the following lines.
To hide your story of Instagram to some specific users, start the social network app previously downloaded from Play Store of Android, fromApp Store of iOS or since Microsoft Store for Windows 10 and log in to your account.
Now, press oncamera icon which is located in the upper left corner of the main screen of the social network, to start the tool dedicated to the creation of Instagram stories, and grant permissions related to access to the camera and microphone, if required. Then press theicona di an ingranaggio which you can see in the upper left corner, to access the settings section, named Story options.
At this point, to hide your Instagram stories, press on the item Hide the story a and, in the next menu that is shown to you, select the names of the people for whom you want to hide the display of multimedia content, placing a check mark on their names. Instagram does not allow you to select all followers en masse, but only one by one.
But I remind you that, by default, the Instagram story is public; so even if you hide it from your followers, it will still remain visible to those who don't follow you.
Once you have selected the names of the followers you do not want to see your story, confirm the operation by pressing the button end located at the top right: in this way, when you publish a story, it will not be visible to users added to the list Hide the story a.

Share Instagram story only with close friends
To hide the Instagram story, you can also opt for an alternative solution: make it visible only to some people you choose from among your followers: in this way, it will only be visible to the people you select.
To carry out this operation you must act as a smartphone, through the use of the app Instagram to Android e iOS. Then start the application of Instagram, by pressing on the icon located on the home screen or in the drawer of your device, and log in to your account, in case this does not happen automatically.
Now, press oncamera icon located in the upper right corner of the social network home screen, to access the tool dedicated to creating stories on Instagram. Then press onicona dell'ingranaggio at the top left and refer to the menu item Closer friends.
By pressing on it, in fact, you can select the names of the people you want to see your story. To do this, click on the button Add, in correspondence with a username and then tap on end, to confirm the operation.
In this way, by publishing a story exclusively within the section Closer friends, this will only be visible to selected users.
Make the account private
Another option at your disposal to make the stories of Instagram published by you are not visible to users of the social network, is to make the account private, which can be reversed at any time.
In this case, however, you will only prevent those who do not yet follow you from seeing your stories; those who are already your followers, on the other hand, will continue to see the content you have published, unless you have entered their names in the list Hide a or you have decided to show the stories only to those who are on the list Closer friends.
If you think this solution is for you and therefore you want to make your account private Instagram, you can act as a smartphone, via the social network app for Android e iOS, or from a computer, by connecting to the web version of the service or using the app for Windows 10.
If you intend to act from smartphone, launch the app Instagram, pigia sull 'icon (☰) which is located in the upper right corner and, in the menu displayed, tap on the item Settings. Now, locate and tap on the item Account privacy and move the lever up ON in correspondence with the wording Private account. On Android, confirm the operation by pressing on OK.
If you prefer to act from computerinstead, connected to the Web version of the famous photographic social network, in order to log in to your account. Now press onicona dell'omino at the top right, to see your profile screen, then click on theicona dell'ingranaggio which is located under the username. In the menu that appears, click on the item Privacy and security, then put the check mark on the wording Private account.
Using the Instagram app for Windows 10, on the other hand, after logging into your account, first press on theicon of a little man located at the bottom, to see your profile screen within the social network.
Once this is done, click on theicona di an ingranaggio located next to your username and, finally, move the lever up ON, corresponding to the item Private account.
In this way, people who do not yet follow you on Instagram, in order to see all the content you post, will have to send you a follow request that you can, at your discretion, accept (Confirmation) or refuse (Delete).
In case, at a later time, you want to make your account public again, you can do it: follow the steps just indicated, to go to the section dedicated to the privatization of the profile, and deactivate the option previously activated.

Block users
As an alternative to the solutions proposed so far, if you want to categorically prevent an Instagram user from seeing all the content you post, you can block him.
This operation can be done in the same way as Android e iOS as well as from computer, both by acting on the version Web of the social network that from the app for Windows 10. However, keep in mind that it is not possible to block all users of the social network en masse, but only one at a time.
That said, if you want to block a user on Instagram and then you want to prevent him from viewing your content (including stories), start the social network app or connect to its Web version, in order to log in to your account.
Now, use the search engine of the social network (lmagnifying glass icon) to locate the profile of the user you want to block. Once this is done, click on the icon (...) which is located in correspondence with his username and, in the displayed menu, press on the item Block (Block this user if you are acting from the web).
